BlackBerry 8830 World Edition is a non camera GSM / CDMA mobile smartphone that comes with full QWERTY keyboard and trackball navigation system. The dimension of this cameraless handset is 114 x 66 x 14 mm and it weighs around 132 g. With 64 MB storage space it ensures plenty of phone book entries. The internal memory can be expanded also using a micro SD card slot. Every BlackBerry 8830 is equipped with a mini USB for high speed data transfer. But for wireless data transfer the handset has got Bluetooth connectivity as well.The 8830 World Edition without camera should look familiar to BlackBerry aficionados, with its 8800-styled trackball and QWERTY keypad but its executive-chic metallic-silver body more closely resembles the curve.

Verizon Wireless' new Global BlackBerry service, which includes a SIM card-a rarity for a Verizon phone-allows customers to place and receive calls from more than 150 countries and send and receive e-mail in the United States, Canada, and more than 60 other nations. When in the United States, chatters are given voice time via Verizon's CDMA network, but when venturing overseas, the phone automatically connects to local GSM / GPRS networks. Unfortunately, this device doesn't support faster EDGE data networks overseas. At just 4.6 ounces and 4.4 x 2.6 x 0.6 inches, it easily slips into a shirt or jacket pocket. Navigating menus was a cinch, thanks to the silky-smooth glide of the trackball.
